Your Life’s About to Change

Your Life’s About to Change!

How God Changes Your Life

Last Sunday morning as the pastor urged all who raised their hands to repent and give their lives to Christ he cried out, Come now, this is your day. Your life’s about to  change. One by one the altar area filled with people turning to Christ. Their lives were about to change forever; they would never be the same again having been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul tells the church in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that people turning to Christ become a new creation in Christ. The indwelling Holy Spirit gloriously transforms the old life we once lived in spiritual darkness into a glorious life in the light of God’s love. As our minds and hearts are renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit and the word of God we begin to experience wholeness, completeness, fulfillment, joy, and peace as we grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ our King. God becomes our Father, Christ our Savior, and the Holy Spirit our ever-present indwelling supernatural spiritual power, helper, teacher, and comforter. Oh yes, my friend, our life changes when we come to Christ.

When we come to Christ we come just as we are. Each of us is carrying our own, and quite often, very personal baggage. We are all sinners who have all fallen short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). We are unrighteous, ungodly, and unholy having earned our place in hell, not heaven.

It is interesting to note how sin-laden self-righteous folks have polished their persona with a sophisticated blend of religion and feigned social appearance while other sinners are outwardly wretched and obvious sinners. In 1 Timothy 5:24, the Apostle Paul reminds Timothy that some folks are obvious sinners while others’ sins trail behind them to judgment. Whether your sins are obvious to all, or you have carefully concealed your sins in hypocrisy, you are still destined for hell without Christ.

Real change comes when we acknowledge we are sinners in desperate need of Christ our Savior. Real change comes when we recognize we are not following Christ according to the Bible. Real change comes from the inside out as we surrender our hearts and lives to His Lordship. God is not asking you to straighten up and be a better person, He wants you to surrender your life to His control. Immediately, our interests, desires, passions, priorities, thinking, and attitudes begin seeing life through the mind and eyes of Christ. An undeniable hunger and thirst emerges within us for the presence of God. His love has removed all fear of punishment, damnation, and judgment. Our darkened minds and hearts are set free by the living Savior, cleansed by His blood, and made righteous in his sight. The darkness has vanished and His Illuminating presence lights the way for a new life, a changed life, and a glorious life that we do not deserve.

Friend, you can’t change yourself to become acceptable in God’s sight. You can’t change to a better version of you. God will provide the change as you turn to Him and confess with your mouth that you are a helpless sinner in need of forgiveness and salvation. Only God can change you, forgive all your sins, heal you, deliver you, set you free, and give you eternal life. He will awaken your spirit and make you alive in Christ through the power of His Spirit. It’s up to you. Is God calling you?

Come now, this is your day. Your life’s about to  change.

How to Turn to God

Perhaps at this very moment, you have realized that you need the Lord in your life. Maybe you drifted away or need to be born again? If so, you can stop right now and begin talking to God. Ask Him to forgive you for being a sinner and the life you have been living outside of His love. Surrender your life to Him, unconditionally. Call Him Lord and make Him Lord of every thought, attitude, and action. You can say, Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins, come into my heart, and take full control of my life. I am your child from this day forward. Change my heart and mind to be Christ-like in every way. I confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior forever.
