Don’t Be Caught Dead Without Jesus

Don’t Be Caught Dead Without Jesus

Are You Ready To Face God?

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)

The Bible says in Psalms 14:1 that only a fool says in his heart there is no God and this foolish thinking leads to a life of vile and corrupt behavior. Rejecting God leads to a self-governed life only subject to man-made laws with the deceptive outlook of no accountability beyond this life. The irony here is that while most people say they believe in God their hearts are void of God’s presence. The fool that rejects God in his heart often says outwardly, “I believe in God” because it is still the accepted norm to vocalize such statements. James 2:19 tells us that even the devil believes in God and is fearful, but such confessions are meaningless. The knowledge or belief in God is not the same as a heart filled with God’s presence.

Recent surveys will show that 9 out of 10 Americans indicate they believe in God, but according to Barna Research roughly 48% of Americans hardly ever, if at all, read God’s word. The other 52% surveyed vary in degree of Biblical influence with only 5% indicating their life is Bible-centered. The keyword here among the 5% is “choices” which equates to or translates into behavior. It is only when we are truly born again that our heart is changed and we begin to set Christ apart as Lord in our hearts (1 Peter 3:15). It is only then that our decisions, choices, and behavior reflect His Lordship.

The 48% or roughly 1/2 of Americans either through omission or disbelief reject God. This group varies from the indifferent or passive unbeliever who has no interest in spiritual things to the aggressive God-haters who openly mock and attack Christianity. They have no fear of God or a day of judgment because in their minds such things are akin to fairy tales only believed by gullible and stupid people.

Clearly, many Americans are unprepared to face God’s judgment. Many are bound in sin and separation from God. The day of accountability will take many by surprise and they will find themselves eternally separated from God. Only those who have been born again as explained by Jesus in John 3:3 will take part in God’s salvation plan. Revelation 21:27 says only those whose names are written in God’s book of life will live forever in God’s presence. All others will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. Do not let anyone else mislead you about God’s plan of salvation.

The Bible asks us a very serious question concerning God’s future judgment of the human race; “how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?”

For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (Hebrews 2:2-4)

Christ came to take our place on the cross where he bore in his body the sins of every sinner. Without godly sorrow and true repentance, we cannot be born again and will never live in God’s eternal presence. We will be eternally lost without a second chance. So today if you hear His voice do not harden your heart against God’s salvation. Today is the day of salvation, not tomorrow. You have no promise that you will wake up tomorrow.

How to Turn to God

Perhaps at this very moment, you have realized that you need the Lord in your life. Maybe you drifted away or need to be been born again? If so, you can stop right now and begin talking to God. Ask Him to forgive you for being a sinner and for the life you have been living outside of His love. Surrender your life to Him, unconditionally. Call Him Lord and make Him Lord of every thought, attitude, and action. You can say, Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins, come into my heart, and take full control of my life. I am your child from this day forward. Change my heart and mind to be Christ-like in every way. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior forever.
