What If The Atheist Is Right?
There is no God, no life after death… Nothing?
So the Christian ask the atheist, “what happens when you die?”
“Nothing,” says the atheist; “You are dead and your body decays. Life has ended. There is no God, no afterlife, no eternal soul or spirit, and no consciousness of having ever been alive. You are as dead as if you never existed.”
The shift toward atheism and agnosticism is increasing as more Americans dismiss the notion of God. While the atheist is in your face certain about the nonexistence of God, agnostics hedge their unbelief by claiming there is no evidence for or against the existence of God. Religion, however, offers a curious blend of folks that range from the Bible-believing zealots to the lip service only believer.
As evil emerges from the darkness of the abyss the ever-increasing disregard, disrespect, and rejection of God is rapidly growing in the minds and hearts of many Americans. The once reverent and holy fear of God is being propagandized as a negative, oppressive, and archaic ideology that must be canceled. This violent assault upon God, the Bible, and Christian morals and values by humanists, atheists, socialists, anti-God propagandists, and communist ideology is sweeping social and secular media, our educational system, and corporate America. Blow by blow, wound by wound, and word by word they are killing God in the minds of our youth and young adults. Having tasted the forbidden fruit of anti-Godism and its lascivious carnality they have abandoned all manner of reason and are feasting at the table of shame.
From the atheist to the agnostic, the socialist to the communist, the elitists to the humanist they all share one common goal, the death of a myth called God. They are done with this myth they claim has oppressed society and empowered rich tyrants to control the masses. That’s what Marxists believe and they are done with all the Christian values and what the Bible says about right and wrong and good and evil. They have a completely different view of life and it is here before your very eyes.
The atheist is desperate to convince everyone of the great hindrance and oppressive nature of believing in God, the Bible, and living a life devoted to God. The rejection of God opens the door to a life of hedonism, epicureanism, and insatiable carnal appetites. It’s a life that promises freedom but creates bondage. To the atheist mind, there is no such thing as sin, because sin is disobedience to God’s commands. You can’t sin against a myth— right? Therefore, all that the Bible teaches about God, morality, and Christian values are meaningless and mythical if God is not real.
The atheists, humanists, and anti-god crowd do not see any meaning, purpose, activity, or outcomes in this life as being linked to some mythical eternal existence beyond the grave. Your life here and now on planet earth is all there is and all that matters. Do whatever makes you happy. Live now because there is nothing after you die. Deny yourself no pleasure. If it feels good, do it. Don’t be oppressed or controlled by archaic mythical values and morals.
Suppose your 16-year-old male teen comes home holding hands with another boy, what would you say? What if your 17-year-old daughter and her boyfriend walk in and announce that she is pregnant and they have scheduled an abortion for Friday, what would you say or do?
In a world, without God, the 16-year-old boy is simply following his sexual orientation and would be praised for his courage to openly express his same-sex attraction. The 17-year-old pregnant daughter would be within her right to seek an abortion and manage her own body. However, the Biblical Christian perspective would say abortion and same-sex relationships are sinful behavior that God forbids. One is a perversion of God’s design for marriage and sexuality and the other takes the life of an innocent child.
If the atheist is right and God does not exist, nothing done in this life matters to you once you are dead. Whether you believed in God and lived according to the Bible or hated even the idea of God, it will not matter if God is only a myth. However, if the very first 10 words you read in the Bible are true, the entire atheist belief is invalid along with humanism, socialism, and communism which are the offspring of atheism.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen. 1:1)
Either the Bible opens with the truth or it’s one big exhausting lie. And what about Jesus? Even Jesus quoted from the book of Genesis concerning God creating man and woman.
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? (Mat. 19:4-5)
The Bible is comprised of 66 books, 39 Old Testament books, and 27 New Testament books. Forty different authors penned the Scriptures over 1,500 years. These authors were inspired by God’s Holy Spirit to speak and write of their divine knowledge, experiences, and relationships that were supernaturally manifested to the world in which they lived, providing undeniably credibility they were divinely inspired messengers of God. Moreover, God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ and lived among us for a while. He taught us about the Father and took upon himself the punishment for all our sins by dying on the cross so that whoever believes in him would be forgiven and not perish but live forever in God’s eternal presence.
The atheist is wrong— dead wrong! They are prisoners and workers of the dark forces of the abyss. Read the truth, learn the truth, and know the truth and God will set you free from the present darkness of this world. Your eyes will be opened to the truth as the illuminating presence of God changes you through and through.
Reading and studying the Bible for yourself is a good place to start if you are atheist, agonistic, or someone uncertain about God.
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. 12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, 14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. (Proverbs 2:6-15)
How to Turn to God
Perhaps at this very moment, you have realized that you need the Lord in your life. Maybe you drifted away or need to be been born again? If so, you can stop right now and begin talking to God. Ask Him to forgive you for being a sinner and the life you have been living outside of His love. Surrender your life to Him, unconditionally. Call Him Lord and make Him Lord of every thought, attitude, and action. You can say, Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins and come into my heart and take full control of my life. I am your child from this day forward. Change my heart and mind to be Christ-like in every way. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior forever.
